THE CHALLENGE
The EO charging platform was being discontinued at the end of 2025 — which would have left every installed charger at Clongriffin unable to bill residents for their electricity. The managing company needed the chargers replaced across multiple buildings, block by block, without interrupting residents mid-winter.
THE SOLUTION
- EO chargers replaced with Easee — 6 Easee 22kW chargers per building, with the remaining points converted to clean, consistent blanks.
- Block-by-block, no downtime — the work sequenced across buildings so residents kept charging throughout.
- Smart management added — dynamic load and phase management connected to each building's distribution board.
- Better oversight and app control — RFID retained for weak-signal areas, with cell repeaters offered so residents can use the GEVTopUP app.
THE RESULTS
- A discontinued platform beaten — chargers replaced before the EO shut-off.
- No interruption for residents as each block was migrated.
- A cleaner, consistent car park with blanks ready for easy future expansion.
- Far greater oversight for management, with a superior resident experience.

WHY THE APPROACH WORKS
A charging network is only as reliable as the platform behind it — and when EO announced its shut-off, thousands of chargers nationwide were left stranded. By replacing Clongriffin's chargers block by block with no downtime, GEV turned a looming failure into an upgrade, and future-proofed the development against the next platform change.
